As organizations scale, rigid automation workflows often break down when faced with unstructured data or tasks requiring human-like judgment. PwC Academy ME recognized the need to shift from standard automation to intelligent augmentation. Their teams needed the technical capability to integrate advanced LLMs directly into their existing processes to handle complex decisioning and dynamic file processing.
Baig Academy designed a highly tactical training program centered entirely around applied building. Rather than just discussing AI strategy, participants were required to construct functional, error-resistant workflows.
The engagement began by establishing strong fundamentals in Make.com and reviewing existing processes for automation. Participants started by building simple workflows, such as incorporating Gmail modules and executing basic Google Sheet updates with lookups.
We then moved into integrating LLMs for advanced decisioning. Teams compared workflows with and without AI agents and utilized OpenAI and Anthropic modules within Make. Hands-on activities included LLM-based sheet lookups, response formulation, and intelligent workflow routing based on the LLM's output.
Handling unstructured data is a primary enterprise hurdle. Participants learned specific methods for passing data to LLMs in context. The lab activities were rigorous: processing files from Google Drive, extracting email attachments, performing direct PDF parsing using Claude, and deploying Gemini with code execution alongside OpenAI vector stores.
To ensure enterprise readiness, the final modules covered flow validation, error checks, and workflow deployment. For the capstone project, users brought their own documents and built a fully functional pipeline to analyze a PDF received via email, extract key information, and automatically append it to Google Sheets.
"The program gave our team a practical framework for building intelligent automation instead of simply automating repetitive tasks. We left with production-ready workflows and the confidence to integrate leading LLMs into real business processes."
